Sales and bargains can help draw in a lot of visitors to your online store. If you’re tired of the usual sales based on holidays, then how about setting up one for a season? Try putting together your first Spring Sale for a change.
- Spring starts between February and April. So prepare at least a month before this period.
- Consider selling items with a Spring or Summer theme. These have a better chance of selling out quick as they are for immediate need and can be used right away.
- Create banners for your website’s home page or find other ways to highlight your potential top selling items. If your sale is going to last long, change your highlighted items weekly to keep it fresh.
- Notify people about the event ahead of time. If you have a loyal customer base, start communicating with them via emails – don’t spam them though.
- Separate the items that are on sale from those that are priced at the regular rate. Just like in a brick-and-mortar store, you can add tags to your sale items. Keep the virtual “tags” consistent. You can even color code based the percentage of the discount. (ie Red tags for 50% or more, orange tags for 30% off, green tags for 20%, etc.)
- Refine your pricing strategy. For consumers, a sale is about getting the best price for a product. For retailers, you can use a sale to rid yourself of extra inventory. You can also move items that are in regular stock faster. To do this efficiently and effectively, make sure you set your inventory’s price point just enough that you still make profit on top of the cost of the goods.
- Keep proper inventory of what was sold and at what price. Proper records can help you plot out your marketing events for the future. It can help you keep track of your most effective sales.
Good luck with your sale! Don't forget to stock up on inventory for your online store from Shopster.com
