After your online store has been operating for a while, you will already have a clear idea about which of your products or services sell well, and which ones are your underachievers.
You may be left wondering why some of these lesser products do not sell so well when your gut feel tells you that they should. So don’t give up on them. Not without a fight. Follow your instincts and pay special attention to these products or services that you know can do much better than they are now.
The presumption is that the product is something you yourself would want to have, so other people like yourself would, too.
Since your online store is not supposed to be rigid, then the next time your specials – 4th of July, August Moon Festival, Sunny September Sale, etc. – give your presentation of the underachieving products a little bit of pizzazz. Treat them in such a way that the eye of the consumers viewing your site will have to take notice. You can, for example, surround the product/products with festive borders. You can make them your hot sale item of the season. You can give them more colorful descriptions.
All these changes will not cost you a cent. All you’re doing is telling your potential buyers, “hey, take a good look at this one.”
The little acts that you’ve taken could cause a spike in sales that will bring a smile to your face and more cash in your bank account, and all you did was follow your gut feel.
